Is there anything more exciting than running a trail on a moonlight evening under a star filled sky? We didn't think so either, so we are pleased to present the inaugral race in the Ilfracombe Running Club Starlight race series - Battle Across Baggy Point.
The first race will be held on the 22nd March, 2025. Two distances will be offered - 5km and 10km (ish). At IRC, we believe that races should be affordable to all - this event aims to offer maximum fun in return for minimal entrance fees.
As with all IRC races you should prepare yourself for hills. Unlike other IRC races, you should prepare yourself for bats, owls and shooting stars (or at the very least, some man made junk lofted into the cosmos by Elon Musk).
The course is a single loop for the 5km option, two loops for 10km.
NOTE: a small part of the course uses private land - you cannot run an identical route outside of this event
A special mention must go to Channel Events, who previously had this race as part of their Dark Skies series. This initial Ilfracombe Running Club offering follows the same course/configuration as their event.
