Doone Run #36

Doone Run is back! The 36th edition of the famous Doone Run will be held on Sunday 21st September 2025. This will be the third year since Ilfracombe Running club rebooted this much loved race and race director Kathryn has said there will definately be Mediterranean weather for this year's event....

As with all IRC races you should prepare yourself for hills, stunning scenery, hills, goats and - of course - more hills. The route will be following the traditional route of the race; designed to be a feast for the eyes and not so much fun on the legs:

Need to know

• Sunday 21st September 2025, Lynton (///outpost.uttering.guitars)
• 16km/10miles
• Race starts 11AM
• Entrants must be at least 17
• Maximum of 250 participants
• Important: this is a running event. For the safety of all participants and marshalls (who can be on the course for many hours in sometimes inclement weather), there will be a cut off - you must reach the 5 mile point at The Olde Cottage Inn in 1hr 20 mins. Failure to do so means you will be withdrawn from the race at that marshal point

Prizes

The sense of achievement of completing such a beautiful race will be enough for most. HOWEVER! All finishers will receive a commemorative medal which you can display proudly upon your chest and get nods of approval from strangers on the street who will know how hard won it was. If that's not enough, there will be some category prizes too....
